In 2002, I first had the idea of making a Christmas wreath, putting RJ-45 connectors on all the lights, adding an IDE ribbon bow, and hanging a couple Star Wars ornaments on it. This year, I finally decided to make the dream a reality.

It was easier now than when I originally planned it, since LED light strings have been invented. The connectors pop right on without the drilling and gluing I originally planned. I ended up making the bow with a mixture of SCSI and Floppy drive ribbon. I also added an MP3 player and speakers so it can play music. Right now, it's programmed to loop a single song. Some Christmas parody I found on an old hard drive sung by an employee of a major fast food chain. The scrolling LED screen displays "GEEK XMAS"

Hi-res version so you can see it in all its glory!

Please note: This is not the original Geek Wreath. There are at least two others that I know of:

It should count for something that I first had the idea 5 years ago, right?
